About Us
Chris’ Haven of Hope is a nonprofit sober living home for men—a steady, supportive place to strengthen recovery, rebuild confidence, and take the next right steps forward.
We were founded by a mother and son in loving memory of Chris Montplaisir. After losing Chris in 2024, our family made a promise: to keep his heart for others alive by creating a home where men can find support, accountability, and real hope.
Today, our 18-bed home offers a community-centered environment where residents commit to sobriety, responsibility, and growth—one day at a time.
Located in a nearly 5,000-square-foot house and named in honor of Chris Montplaisir, Chris’ Haven of Hope includes a memory wall that reminds us why this work matters. We believe recovery is possible—and that with the right environment, the right support, and steady daily choices, a new life can take root.
We know recovery takes courage—and it’s rarely a straight line. That’s why we work to create a safe, respectful place where people can catch their breath, feel supported, and build the daily habits that lead to lasting change.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe, structured, and supportive sober living environment for men in recovery.
It is is rooted in compassion, accountability, and community. Through the supportive guidance of Chris’s Haven of Hope Sober Living, residents live together as a family—encouraging one another, staying engaged in the community, and building the foundation for lifelong recovery.
We strive to reduce the impact of addiction and uplift individuals in early recovery, helping them reclaim their lives and step confidently into a sober, meaningful future.
Our Purpose
Honoring Chris's Memory
Creating a sober living home is a way to pay tribute to Chris, celebrating his beautiful life and the positive impact it had on those around him. This would allow his legacy to continue through helping others that struggle with addiction and mental health.
Supporting Recovery
Sober living homes provide crucial needed support for individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. By establishing a home, we can create a safe and well-structured environment that fosters healing and growth.
Community Impact
We believe that a sober living home can serve as a valuable resource for this community, addressing the need for supportive housing for us in recovery. This can contribute to reducing relapse rates and promoting long term sobriety.
Raising Awareness
We will raise awareness about addiction and recovery, encouraging open conversations and reducing stigma surrounding these issues.
Creating a Sense of Purpose
This sober living home can provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment allowing Chris's family to channel their grief and spread it into something positive that benefits others.
Building a Positive and Supportive Network
Sober living can help foster a sense of community among residents, encouraging connections and support that can aid in their recovery journey. Such as help in finding work and introducing a local Christian environment.
